African Family: Part 14

...I and Emmanuel looked at each other in surprise as Favour came out of our parents room smiling...

She still beat me...still 1 - 0

She went into her room without even looking at us, I looked at the time... almost 9:00 pm, that was when I remembered I had exams the next day which was Monday...

I went into my room immediately and started preparing for school ahead of the next morning... this habit had been forced on me by my mum...

She would always made sure I had set my uniform, underwear and bag ahead of the next morning, I was used to it now.

After everything, I laid on my bed thinking about what happened earlier, and how Favour had gotten hold of dad's phone without us knowing...

Favour found her way back into the youth camp choir...she would surely have enough money after the programme but she is very stingy, ughh

Emmanuel was still playing choir songs in the parlour...seems like he has slept off, daddy will soon wake him up specially...

I got up early the next morning before everyone else, I did the necessary things in preparation for school before others woke up

We had morning devotion as usual and I had breakfast while dad got ready for work...then I had to wait for dad to finish eating before we set out for the day...

Dad dropped me off as usual, I waved him goodbye and went straight to where I secretly revised before exams...

I wanted to do very well this term so I usually missed school assembly in order to read more

The school also had an extra two hours between assembly and the starting of exams for students to revise, so I had two hours and thirty minutes altogether...

I read my social studies note intensively and I had almost crammed the entire note...I was well prepared.

Then the bell rang off, meaning we had twenty minutes till the start of exams

I packed my bag and went to my class, everyone was busy reading and asking questions while I walked confidently to my seat

Dan, my seat mate looked at me...

"Victor, where do you stay every morning that you miss assembly like this?" He asked

I just shrugged

"Anyways, you should have heard the new development na"

I looked at him...

"What development" I asked

"So you don't know, the timetable was just updated this morning...no social studies today, we're writing basic tech"

...TBC...
