..."Are you serious Daniel?" I asked him in surprise


"I've told you what they said at the assembly, it's not my fault that you came late..."


"I did not come late" I cut in


"That's your business, exam is in 15 minutes... good luck" he turned back to his book


Luckily, we submitted our basic tech notes to the teacher the previous week so I just had to go and collect it and read the little I can.


I raced to the teachers' office and had to wait for some time before I was permitted to go in...


I met the basic tech teacher at his table


"Good morning sir, please I want to take my notebook"


"Which notebook?" He asked while I answered impatiently


"My basic tech notebook"


"Which class?"


"JSS2 sir" I replied impatiently


"Ermmm, JSS2...I have given your class captain your basic tech notebooks, go and ask him for yours"


"Okay sir" I looked at the clock in the office while rushing out...


9:53, seven minutes more


I ran back to the class to look for the class captain, Kennedy


He wasn't there


"Please where's Kennedy?" I asked a student who was close to the door


"Good morning senior, I don't know where senior Kennedy is"


That was when I looked closer, I was in the wrong class


I rushed back out and went to my class but Kennedy was still not there


"Where is Kennedy" I asked the closest person to me


"He went to the principal's office" 


"Oh, but do you know where he kept my basic tech note?" I asked again


"I don't know, it's probably in his locker" 


I looked at his locker, it was locked...I ran down to the principal's office, it was always open because there was an office before his, it belonged to the vice principal


I had to wait for Kennedy to come out, and he did after some time...


"Abeg come and give me my note, fast please" I rushed to him as soon as he came out of the office


"It's only three minutes to the exams, what do you want to read again? " He asked


"Come and give me my note abeg" I dragged him to the class...he opened his locker and gave me the note, I swiftly opened the note and started flipping through in order to locate the start of the term 


I just found it and then sat down to read a little, then the bell rang

  ©️ ...I looked up, everyone was looking at me I pretended not to notice the laughter coming from the back of the classroom, I continued writing The teacher stood at my table a little longer, then he continued moving around the class After sometime, he exclaimed again "Some people have already finished" He was standing in front of Daniel who was still writing so I didn't know who exactly he was talking about. I tried to recall even the simplest definitions from basic tech topics but I couldn't I decided to just relax and think about how my holiday will be My thoughts fell on the food I will be eating that afternoon, although I didn't know what mum had cooked but I knew it would be a great meal... I kept thinking of various things because I knew that the exam I was writing was already a failed one so I decided not to stress too much about it.
